Obituary for Pasquale Galea

Galea, Pasquale 73 of Atwells Ave, suffered a heart attack and passed away May 22nd at Rhode Island Hospital He was the son of the late John and Teresa (Tricomi) Galea. Brother of Maria LaManna of Johnston and her late husband Fausto, Piera Tedeschi of Cranston and her husband Alberto, Giovanna Galea of Calabria,Italy and her late husband Peter Mesiti, Frank Galea and his wife Grace of Cranston, Dr. Robert Galea of Rhode Island along with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews all of whom he adored.

Pasquale was born in Calabria Italy and came to America in 1955 at just 13 years old. At 27 he joined the Military and served his country honorably during the Viet Nam War becoming a Highly Decorated Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient.

Pasquale will always be remembered for his love of sports, meticulous and dapper style his love of life, family, friends and country. His appreciation and love of everything was displayed in so many ways one of which was the way he played Santa Claus so many times for us as children. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and relatives.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Military Funeral Wednesday at 9:30 am from the Woodlawn Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Spruce St., Providence at 11am. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery with full Military Honors immediately following. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday May 26th 4-8 at The Woodlawn Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston RI .
