Obituary for Alfonse Turchetta

Alfonse Turchetta, 87, of North Providence died peacefully July 3rd 2018. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Pio and Katherine (Calitri) Turchetta. He was the loving husband of Phyllis (Corsetti) Turchetta and the devoted father to David Turchetta of East Greenwich and Susan Turchetta of Warwick. He was predeceased by his son Joseph Turchetta. He is also survived by two siblings, Pio Turchetta of Johnston and Edith Russo of North Providence. Alfonse was the proud grandfather of four beautiful grandchildren and great-grandfather of four all by whom he will be sorely missed.

Alfonse went his entire life going by his middle name, David. Everyone called him Dave. During the years when his children were younger he would love to pack everyone in the car and go for a drive to one of his sisters or brothers houses, where all the cousins could play together, and he could enjoy some good company, great food, and maybe a game of cards too! Those were great times for Alfonse, and those times will always be remembered well. He was self employed in the jewelry industry for many years before retiring. But mostly, he was a homebody who loved spending time at home with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid baseball fan, he loved his Yankees and enjoyed sharing his passion with his family. He loved going to his children's baseball games and took pride in all of their sports activities but, he was most happy at home with the people he loved most, sharing his passion for baseball and family.

Alfonse will be buried in St. Ann's Cemetery in a private ceremony.
