Obituary for Babette Small

Our beautiful, devoted and beloved mother, Babette (Tetreault) Small, (Babs) 60, of North Providence, passed away peacefully, after a long and lingering health issue, on April 22nd, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was a cherished daughter of the late William and Rose (Neri) Tetreault. She is survived by her three devoted sons, Gerard Tetreault of Warwick, Vincent and Rocco Tetreault both of Providence, her beloved daughter, Amanda Tetreault of New Jersey. She is also survived by her siblings, William Tetreault and Becky Usinia both of Providence along with her two beautiful grandchildren by whom she will be sorely missed. Babette was predeceased by her brother Dave and five sisters, Terri, Gail, MaryAnn, Lisa and Kane.

Babette was a stay at home mom who took pride in dedicating her life to her children. She had a great personality with a beautiful smile that would light up any room and which made her so memorable. A “tough cookie” who took no nonsense, she was a fierce defender of her children. She also, always had a kind word for them, ready to listen, offering words of wisdom and never judgment. Her kindness and love has impacted our lives greatly and will be with us always, her example of strength and the ability to care for others will have it’s lasting impact on all who knew her, especially her children.

She was an independent, interesting woman with a curious mind, a voracious reader and self taught individual. A nature lover, she was happiest in her garden or visiting Roger Williams Park, she also enjoyed the beaches, especially Oakland Beach. She found great pleasure and joy in music and singing and although she was known to sing a bit off key, she didn’t let it stop her. She loved sharing her music with her children, she would sing Karaoke to Patsy Cline and Brenda Lee. A perfect family night with her kids would be a little take out food, Steak & Cheese or Chinese with a little Karoke.

Services for Babette, to which family and friends are respectfully invited to attend, will be held May 7th, at 8:30 am in the Berarducci Funeral Home, 26 Grove St Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Ghost Church, Atwells Ave at 10 am. Burial will be in St Ann’s Cemetery immediately follow.
