Obituary for Barbara Hubert

Barbara (Spigell) Hubert, 88, of Warwick passed away peacefully, on October 25th, 2020 after a brief illness. Barbara was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 11, 1932. She was a daughter of Donald and Anna (Dubik) Spigell. Her family moved to Rhode Island when Barbara was a young girl. After high school, Barbara married the love of her life, Joseph Hubert and was a loving and devoted wife until his death in 1977. Together, they raised their two beautiful children, Joseph and Debra in a traditional and loving home here in the Ocean State.

Barbara is survived by her son Joseph Hubert and his wife Kathy of The Woodlands, TX. She is also survived by her daughter Debra Hubert of Cranston and by her loving grandchildren, Jarrett and his wife, Sarah, both of Houston, TX, Jordann Timberlake and her husband Brett also of The Woodlands, TX, and Joseph Hubert of Cranston. She is also survived by her beautiful great grandchildren, Lucy Bird Timberlake and Reid Connor Hubert, as well as many relatives by whom she will be sorely missed.

Barbara was a lively, loving and compassionate person, a dedicated wife and mother, a hardworking woman who invested a lifetime of twenty plus years to working at the Miriam Hospital in Providence. She had a great smile and a great personality; she was a hard-working woman who believed in taking good care of herself. After a lifetime of dedicated hard work at Miriam, Barbara did not rest, she took her energy and compassion and volunteered her time, in retirement, as a senior companion, at Eleanor Slater Hospital.

Barbara was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Celtics, Red Sox and Patriots games along with her family and friends. She also loved old movies and enjoyed eating out, especially pizza.
