Obituary for Belkis Rosario

A beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Belkis Rosario, affectionately known to all that loved her as Morena, 58, of Providence, passed away on March 15th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was born in the Dominican Republic on October 9th,1964, to Lucas Rosario and Gladys Batista. She is survived by her devoted children, Melissa DeJesus of Providence and Luis Tejada of North Providence. She is also survived by her two loving sisters, Angela Rosario of Providence and Juliana Suardy and Roberto Rosario both of Santo Domingo. She leaves behind one precious granddaughter: Jilliana Perez also of Providence. She also leaves behind her beloved little dog Rin Tin Tin.

Morena was a smart, loving and devoted mother who put family above all else, a beautiful person who spread joy and happiness wherever she went. She enjoyed cooking for her family and especially loved to watch the Food Network Channel and often tried to create what liked from the shows. She loved music and loved to cook for family on Thanksgiving and Christmas, but New Years Eve was her favorite! She was always happy to raise her glass and welcome the New Year ahead with great optimism and spirit. She was a blessed soul known for loving and caring for all living things, she fed every animal that crossed her path and had dogs all her life. She also had a fun side, and taught us all how to enjoy life, always the life of the party, she loved to dance the Salsa and did a mean Merengue, she knew how to get the party started. She was a caring, passionate person who loved hard and was always there for anyone who needed her. But as kind and loving a soul that she was she was also a strong and outspoken woman; she was honest and would speak her mind and tell you how she felt even when at times you did not want to hear it. Her famous saying, “si tu no hablas nadie sabe lo que te pasa” will always be engraved in our brains. Forever will be missed, never forgotten, until we meet again.
