Obituary for Charles Russell Eddy

CHARLES RUSSELL EDDY

Charles R. Eddy of Woonsocket died suddenly and unexpectedly at Landmark Medical Center on Sunday, August 14, 2022; he was only 67 years old. Always happy, always optimistic, and always positive, he was the proud and loving father of Michelle (Stephen) Lowry, of Douglas, MA, and Megan (Carl) Klipp, of Oxford, MA, and the adoring grandfather of Madison, Taylor, and Kendall. He was the dear brother of Maryellen Eddy and Dale (Michael) Bianco of Florida, and Mark Eddy (Rick) of Virginia. He is also survived by his beloved nephews, Eric and Brian Bianco. Charles was the former husband of Lorraine (Gardner) Eddy, who remains close to their two daughters.

Born on September 21, 1954, to the late Marvin D. and Sally (Locurto) Eddy in Long Island, NY, he was literally 'all things New York'! He revered his birth state and New York roots, continuing to collect and treasure memorabilia throughout his lifetime. And, of course, he was an avid and life-long Yankees fan!

Following high school, Charles continued his education in horticulture and landscape design and enjoyed a career in that field. He later was employed by Core-Mark, from where he recently retired.

Charles absolutely loved to walk - he walked everywhere - and loved to garden at his home, testing the structural integrity of his deck with myriad pots of flowers, vegetables, and herbs! Most of all, he will be fondly remembered as a truly giving person, taking care of his loved ones and often befriending total strangers with his selfless and genuine acts of kindness and compassion. In addition to his family, he will be sorely missed but never forgotten by his buddies at Rick's Bar & Grill and his many friends here and elsewhere.

Visitation and services for Charles, to which family and friends are respectfully invited, will be held on Sunday afternoon, August 21, 2022, from 3 to 5 pm, in the Berarducci Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, 185 Spring St., Woonsocket. Meanwhile, condolences and memories may be left on the on-line guest book.
