"I love you more Dad! "I doubt it". A loving father, brother, grandfather and friend, Dennis K. Smith Sr. passed away on May 30th, 2022. He died at the home he shared with his daughter and son in law, surrounded by his loving family. He was a cherished son of the late Chester W. and Faye (Bates) Smith. He is survived by his first wife, Hope Smith and their devoted children, Desarae K Smith-Domenech and her spouse Efrain and one son Dennis K Smith Jr... He is also survived by his second wife Georgianna Sousa and his step-children Paul Jr., Jaime and Samantha Spetrini all of Providence. He is also survived by his siblings, Chester W., Michael and Raymond Smith, along with his four precious grandchildren, Domenik, Devyn, Lilyanna and Daysia along with his dear friend since high school, Kenn and many nieces and nephews by whom he will be sorely missed. Dennis was predeceased by his siblings Deanna, and Roberta.

A strong man who faced many hard times, Dennis was kind and loving with a gentle soul who express compassion for everyone including even the smallest of God’s creatures. He never missed a chance to say I love you to his children and grandchildren. He could fix anything, he was an excellent mechanic and especially loved working on antique cars. We will always remember that he was always fixing something, if a door squeaked, he grabbed his tools, if the car hesitated, he was on it, it was his way of showing us he cared, was taking care and that he loved us. He loved music and enjoyed old fashion turntables and music stereo systems.

He will be sadly missed but we take comfort that he is free of pain. Dennis gave his life to the lord, we know is flying high with the best of them.

We held his Celebration of Life before he passed and would like to thank everyone who participated.
