OBITUARY FOR DIANE LYON BARTON

A brilliant woman, business-savvy entrepreneur and wonderful loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend is gone too soon. Diane Lyon Barton, 68, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 22, 2021, in her Providence home. Born in South Attleboro on May 21, 1952 to David and Agnes Lyon, she was raised and educated there together with her five siblings.

Dedicated, determined, and hard-working, Diane was passionate about art and screen-printing. As screen-printer extraordinaire, Diane created her own business, Bizzaro Screen Printing. Working with fine artists and RI’s top ad agencies, Diane leaves a legacy as one of the finest screen-printers around. She loved it all, the art, the process and the clients, and they loved her.

Diane enjoyed cooking and made the best country chicken. She loved PBS and especially loved mysteries. Diane’s favorite way to spend time with family and friends was long days at Goosewing beach. She was an avid reader of the New York Times and took particular delight and pride in completing its challenging daily crossword puzzles with a pen!

Mourning Diane’s passing are her loyal daughter, Jade Myers, her husband Matthew and their children Roxie and Ellis of Barrington; her brother Alexander Lyon of Wrentham and his wife Diane; her sisters, Deborah Lyon of South Attleboro, Dawn Cullinan of North Kingstown, and Daphne TenEyck and her husband William of East Greenwich; life-long friend, Bonnie Simon of Cranston; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, David Lyon; her brother-in-law, John Cullinan; and her former husband, Robert Barton.

Arrangements are entrusted to The Berarducci Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center in Providence, where private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Condolences may be left at ProvidenceCremation.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Diane’s name to Crossroads Rhode Island.
