Obituary for Doris Hazard

Doris Ann Hazard passed on peacefully, surrounded by her loving family March 14, 2019

Born October 14, 1937 in Shelby, NC. a daughter of the late Paul and Dorothy Walker. She was the devoted wife of the late Raymond Hazard and the long time companion of the late Nathaniel Page. Doris leaves behind her loving children whom she adored Glenda Ann, Michael Anthony and Charleen Ella-Louise Hazard. She was predeceased by one son Rodney Calvin Hazard and was the adopted mother of two, Kevin Richard and Temple Jean Varella all of Providence, Rhode Island. She was predeceased by her brothers Paul Everett and Randolph Walker. She was also predeceased by two sisters Carol Pettey and Lucille (Walker) Choate. She is also survived by her seven adoring grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews along with a host of loving friends by whom she will be sorely missed and never forgotten.

Doris was educated in the Rhode Island School System and worked in the medical assistant field for most of her life. She later dedicated her life to caring for her children around the clock. Doris was a pillar of her community, always willing to help the less fortunate, not passing judgement on anyone. Doris will always be remembered by her loving spirit and her heart of gold.
Family and friends are welcome to attend the Repass Service. To be held at Esmond Village 6 Sebille Road, Smithfield, Rhode Island on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 1pm.
