Obituary for Douglas Fowlkes

A beloved father and grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Douglas Fowlkes, 51, of Providence, passed away unexpectedly on September 7th. He was born in New York City on July 4th, 1970, to the late Rudolph and Deborah (Greene) Fowlkes.

Douglas possessed an admirable work ethic and held positions of increasing responsibility, beginning in construction and later in customer service and the hospitality industry.

Blessed with a good sense of humor, he will be remembered for his jokes and the ability to put a smile on most anyone’s face at most any time. When not working or joking, he enjoyed art, music, and films. An avid reader of authors Stephen King and Dean Koontz, he had a passion for video games, especially when played with his children and grandchildren. In addition, he loved the peacefulness of walks taken by the ocean and through quiet cemeteries.

He is survived by his devoted children, Devin of Las Vegas and Trinity of Providence; his three siblings Damon, Dawn, and Bonita Fowlkes; His cherished grandchildren; four step-children, and several nieces, nephews, and friends by whom he’ll be sorely missed but fondly remembered.

Visitation for Mr. Fowlkes, to which family and friends are respectfully invited to attend, will be held September 17th, from 4 to 6 pm in the Berarducci Funeral Home, 26 Grove St Providence RI
