Obituary for Florence Silva (Casolla)

God blessed her life with love and laughter! Our dear mother, sister, aunt and friend, Florence Silva, 86, of Providence, passed away on January 12th, 2022 at Miriam Hospital. She was born in Providence on April 21st, 1935. A cherished daughter of the late George and Mary (Tartaglia) Casolla, she is survived by her children, Debra Carillo and Anthony Silva both of South Carolina. Flo leaves behind her dear devoted friend of many years, Gary Brown. She is also survived by her sister Viola Sacco of Providence. In addition, she is survived by her eight beautiful grandchildren. She is also survived by her five great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and her two beloved cats, Priscilla and Rubio. Sadly Florence was predeceased by one grandson and one brother, Richard Casolla.

Florence was a sweetheart of a woman with a beautiful smile and a vivacious personality. She was kind, caring and very hard working. A retired security guard, she worked for Wells Fargo among other notable companies for many years. She raised her beautiful family and was also fun loving and adventurous. Florence you're a superior Florence loved listening to B101 on her radio with her Dunkin donut coffee in hand. She enjoyed things like the circus she liked ice skating and Providence. On most Fridays she and Gary would go to their favorite restaurant for the fish-and-chips special. She loved going out for breakfast and loved the slots at twin river, she loved them because she always won! A perfect Sunday for her would be a dinner, a movie and an ice cream to top it off.

When Florence was relaxing you could find her staying at home with Gary, watching all reruns of threes company together or making her favorite spaghetti and meatballs. She was a blessed soul and will be truly missed. We will miss her laughed up, her sense of humor and her beautiful smile.
