Obituary for Gladys Rios
Gladys Rios, 58, of Providence passed into the embrace of her Savior on Monday, April 20, 2020. She was a loving wife to Jose Paula; devoted mother to Gladys and Miguel Rios and Luz, Rosa, and Yudelka Felix; and cherished grandmother to 13 young and wonderful grandchildren.
Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, she is also survived by her dear mother, Luz Pinals; six siblings; and several other family members who all continue to reside there. Her native country and its culture and customs were important to Gladys, and she enjoyed preserving many family traditions and foods.
Gladys was all about family and faith which were everything to her. Family always came first and she treasured and honored them weekly with her delicious Sunday dinners, made with special ingredients, especially love! As a woman of faith, she attended services at and was active in the ministries of San Carlos Church in Providence.
An avid card player, Gladys also enjoyed music and was a bit of a fashionista and a 'girly girl' at heart, always paying special attention to hair and nail beautification. For all the foregoing, she will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
Visitation and services for Gladys will be strictly private and are being arranged by the family through the Berarducci Home, corner of Grove & Knight Streets, Providence. She will be laid to rest at North Burial Ground in Providence.
