Helen Vitacca, 89, beloved wife of Anthony Vitacca of Providence passed peacefully on May 7, 2018 after a brief period of declining health. She was born on December 30,1928 to Anthony and Antoinetta (Simeone) Ficocelli and was educated in Providence schools, graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School. She was employed in the jewelry industry, but was most comfortable and will be most fondly remembered as an outstanding homemaker for her family. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and was a former communicant of St. Thomas Church in Providence.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan, and mourned by her son, Nicholas and his wife Lisa; her brother Marco Ficocelli of North Providence; five grandchildren including Arianna and Nicholas Vitacca II, with whom she was especially close; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Helen's loyal and loving poodle, Sweet Pea, recently predeceased her.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 10th, beginning with visitation at 9:00 a.m. at the Berarducci Home, 26 Grove Street at the corner of Grove and Knight Streets, followed by a funeral cortege to St. Ann's Cemetery in Cranston for committal services and entombment in The Risen Christ Mausoleum at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend or leave a condolence. In lieu of flowers contributions to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
