James M. Ahern, 49, of Providence, passed away peacefully at home. He was a son of the late Robert M. and Helen (Thomas) Ahern. He is survived by his sister Debra Ahern Lorenzo and her daughter, his niece Marlena Dalton. He is also survived by two nephews Mark Jennings and Nicholas Ahern. James was predeceased by his only brother Robert M. Ahern.

Know to many as Jimmy, he was a kind and loving soul, who enjoyed being around friends and family. He was a well known face in the Federal Hill neighborhood for many years and loved to hang out at Rocco's Comic Books and The Time Capsule. He had a great laugh and wonderful personality. Jimmy was a comic book and superhero fan who loved reading about all his favorites , Batman being his all time superhero. He was always helpful to others and his smile and presence will be greatly missed.

Services for Jimmy will be private and internment will be in Mt St. Mary's Cemetery, East Providence.
