Obituary for Jeannine Benoit

JEANNINE (BERGERON) BENOIT

Our dear mother and grandmother, Jeannine Benoit, age 84, passed peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at The Friendly Home in Woonsocket following a brief period of declining health. She was the widow of Roland Benoit.

Born in Woonsocket on March 2, 1938 to Philip and Aldea (Tesssier) Bergeron, she was raised in a loving and traditional ‘Franco-American’ home in the village of Manville and was educated at St. Clare’s in Woonsocket.

A devoted wife and mother, she was the epitome of an energetic, ambitious, and fun-loving lady. She worked at a variety of jobs in her early years and especially enjoyed her customers and colleagues during her many years of service at the famed El Dorado Steak House on Clinton Street in the City. Following her relocation to Florida, she held a very responsible and demanding position as Manager of a St. Cloud mobile home park endearing herself to residents and guests.

But it wasn’t all work for Jeannine as she was indeed ‘a pioneer in life balancing’! Family first, work second, then as much time as she could find and muster for fun-filled and other fulfilling and rewarding activities such as shopping, dancing, sewing, dancing, knitting, dancing, travelling, cruising, and dancing ! She was also an avid NASCAR fan when time allowed and her ‘dance card’ wasn’t full !

Besides her parents and beloved husband Roland, Jeannine was predeceased by her son, Ernest D.Brochu. Mourning her passing and surviving are her daughter, Solange “Sally” (husband, Robert) Pelletier; her grandchildren, David (wife,Kerri) Felice, Deanna Pelletier (fiancé, Jared), and Ernie, Ryan, Bazel, and Jordan Brochu; and her great-grandchildren, Tatum Pelletier and Venna Barry. She will also be missed by Diane Martini, many friends with whom she shared special bonds, and her caring ‘Friendly Home family’ to whom a profound debt of gratitude is owed by Jeannine’s appreciative family.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Berarducci Home & Cremation Center, 185 Spring Street, Woonsocket. Memorial donations to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 would be appreciated. Services are private but condolences may be left at [ProvidenceCremation.com]
