A beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, Jennifer Brown, 46, of Providence passed away, at home, in her sleep unexpectedly from Congestive Heart Failure, on December 16th, 2022. A beautiful daughter, born in NYC on August 2nd, 1976, to Erasmus Gotay III and Maria (Ortiz) Gotay. Jennifer nicknamed “Mameta” by her mother was the cherished spouse of Michael Brown and the beloved mother of one son, Caleb Brown. She is survived by her siblings; Erasmus Gotay IV of Manhattan NY, Michelle Gotay of Moosup CT and Eileen Gotay of Stonington CT. She is also survived by her eldest niece Alexis LaGrandeur, eldest nephew, Charles A Perez Jr., and nieces, Isolina LaGrandeur and Lyric A. Gotay all of CT along with other relatives and friends by whom she will be sorely missed.
A loving woman who was smart, funny, kind and beautiful. Her presence would light up a room, she was the life of every gathering with her big, beautiful smile. Her sharp wit and lively sense of humor could bring out the fun in anyone she met. She always made it a point to make everyone smile and be happy. She was a devoted and dedicated mother to her six-year-old son and beloved spouse. A homemaker, she loved spending time cooking family favorites, the house often smelled of delicious food. Jennifer attended CCRI where she received her Associates Degree. She loved art, loved to paint and enjoyed creating decorative art pieces out of scrap wood. She was an avid reader; she loved to read and write poetry. Jennifer was a devote Christian who found peace and solace in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was baptized in Destin Beach, Florida. A perfect evening for Jenn would be at home, painting, reading or cooking surrounded by her family.
Remembrance Services for Jennifer, to which family and friends are invited to attend will be held on Wednesday, December 28th, 2022 from 4pm to 6pm in the Berarducci Funeral Home, 26 Grove St Providence, RI.
Please note that this will be a time to celebrate her life and not just for mourning.
