Obituary

Jose Ventura
A beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Jose Ventura, 56, of Providence, passed peacefully into the welcoming embrace of his Lord and Savior at Rhode Island Hospital on November 10, 2020, following a period of declining health due to COVID-19 and related complications.

Born in Villa Gonzalez, Santiago on June 22, 1964 to the late Lorenzo Ventura and Maria Hernandez, Jose and his siblings were raised in a traditional and loving home. He enjoyed childhood and was educated in the Dominican Republic and it was there that he developed an old-fashioned work ethic and began a long and satisfying career as a professional landscaper. He emigrated to the USA in 1994 and continued in his profession until illness forced his retirement.

A deeply religious Christian and dedicated family man, he especially loved his family, music, and singing in church. He was an active member of The First Church of God on Elmwood Avenue in Providence, and loved participating in church events and groups. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He was ‘all about family’ and enjoyed any time spent with family and friends; many fond memories were made at family gatherings, especially on holidays. His contagious laugh and amazing hugs were his hallmark and are his legacy; for these, he will forever be revered and fondly remembered. He will be sorely missed by those he cherished.

Jose leaves his son and daughter, Darlyn and Darolin Ventura; grandchildren, Darshall Toribio, Derelin Minaya, and Dariel Ventura; siblings, Ana Peria, Nieves Morel, and Mary, Manuel, and Pedro Ventura; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services for Jose will be private. In lieu of flowers and memorial donations, the family would appreciate any random acts of kindness be done in honor of Jose.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Berarducci Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center in Providence.
