Obituary for Karen Zabatta

A loving partner, a special and generous soul, Karen Zabatta, 69, of East Greenwich passed away on July 5 th at Berkshire Nursing Home following a period of declining health. Born on September 18, 1953, she was the only child and precious daughter of the late Hope Richitelli of Johnston, with whom she was extremely close and to whom she was very devoted, selflessly caring for her through her final days before her passing. She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and long-time partner, William Ambrosino, with whom she made her home before becoming ill. She is also survived by William’s son, Anthony Ambrosino, along with many friends by whom she’ll be sorely missed but fondly remembered.

Karen was a beautiful woman with a beautiful smile and soul to match; she deeply loved her friends and was always warm, welcoming, friendly, and outgoing. A cutting-edge fashionista, she was stylish and classy in her manner and dress, always wearing just the right outfit, shoes, jewelry, handbag, and accessories from her extensive wardrobes of each! Always upbeat and fun to be with, her sense of flair and fashion was only trumped by her sharp and delightful sense of humor which she willingly shared and endeared her to many! Karen also loved to travel, read romance novels, watch movies and reality shows, listen to music, and dance, dance, dance. She enjoyed playing slot machines at the casinos in both New Orleans and Rhode Island, with Twin Rivers in

Lincoln being a favorite. She also treasured quality time at home with Bill. An excellent cook, she was most noted for her delicious sausage and peppers. Although store-bought, she absolutely loved chocolate and a wide variety of candy bars (which may explain and account for some of her inner sweetness)!

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Berarducci Home & Cremation Care Center in Providence. Rest in peace, dear Karen.
