Obituary for Librada Alejandro-Cortijo

Librada Alejandro-Cortijo, 77, of North Providence, passed away, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Puerto Rico in 1942, she was a daughter of the late, Narciso Alejandro and Anna Cortijo. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Ivette Sanchez and was predeceased by two sons, Milton and Angel Sanchez. She is also survived by one brother, Gaby Figueroa and three sisters, Lidia, Margarita and Victoria Alejandro all of Puerto Rico. In addition, Librada is survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren along with many friends and relatives by whom she will be sorely missed.

Librada was a loving and caring person who loved to help others. She loved to tell jokes, spend time with her grandchildren and cook her favorite meals of Rice and Chicken along with all the family’s favorite Puerto Rican specialties. She was kind and helpful towards everyone but, especially to her grandchildren who she loved more than anything. She was a woman of strong faith and would often write beautiful poetry about her faith. In her spare time, she loved Spanish TV and radio, she loved Word Search puzzles and most of all, she loved her coffee.

Services for Librada will be held in Puerto Rico at a date to be determined.
