Obituary for Lorrie Hewett

Surrounded by her new-found angels of mercy and love on Rock Avenue in Pascoag, Lorrie (Holcomb) Hewett of Bradford Court passed peacefully into the eternal embrace of the Lord on Thursday, June 4th, 2020 at the Overlook Nursing Home.

She was the beloved mother of Jennifer ‘Jen’ Hewett of Pascoag and a dear sister to Elizabeth Goulet (Arthur) of Seekonk, Samantha Chadwick in South Carolina, Cathy Ducharme (Richard) of Pascoag, and Bill Holcomb of Spokane, WA. Another brother, John, predeceased her in 1983. In addition to her daughter and siblings she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Born in Newport on November 14th, 1952, to Donald and Rena (Krikorian) Holcomb, Lorrie lived on both the East and West coasts before settling in Burrillville in 1970. A loyal, loving, and devoted mother and sister, Lorrie was a role model for many. She was known to engage in lively debates on a variety of topics, especially those concerning politics, current events, and issues of ‘right and wrong’.

In her life she followed the principles of Christianity, thus she was extremely generous and giving. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tease and play pranks. She enjoyed day trips to Foxwoods and Twin River Casinos and liked to play Slot O Mania, Candy Crush, and Words with Friends.

Most of all she enjoyed and treasured her family, especially her daughter, Jen. Despite their separation during the pandemic and her declining health, she was able to stay closely connected to her loved ones. Her amazing team ofcare givers at Overlook were close to her heart.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Berarducci Home & Cremation Care Center, 185 Spring Street, Woonsocket. Services for Lorrie and a celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date. Inurement will be in the Holcomb family lot at Acotes Hill Cemetery in Chepachet.

Memorials in Lorrie’s honor may be made to Grace’s Pantry at Glad Tidings Community Church, 111 Victory Highway, Chepachet, 02814 (www.GTCC.Churchonline/giving) R.I.P., Lorrie; you will be sorely missed but fondly remembered.
