Obituary for Michael M Celico

A beloved husband, partner, and friend, Michael M. Celico, 65, of Simmons Village, Johnston, passed away peacefully and in the company of his devoted wife on July 16th at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital following a courageous twenty-year struggle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Kathy Celico, his brothers, Bruce Celico, of CT, Eugene Celico, of North Kingstown, RI, and his sister, Diane Celico, of Charlestown RI.

Michael was born in Westerly, RI, on February 4th, 1957. He was a cherished son of the late Mariano and Ruth (Edgar) Celico and was raised together with his siblings in a warm and loving family. Michael was tall and handsome with a beautiful smile and a great personality. Smart and hardworking, he was talented and loved working with his hands. A General Contractor by trade, he was the proprietor of Celico Builders, serving the Block Island area for many years.

A kind and sweet person, he loved nothing more than to stay at home with his loving wife and watch TV; his favorite shows were Law & Order, The Price is Right, and Let’s Make a Deal. His favorite meal was home-made meatloaf, and he had an affinity for cats and the natural beauty of the forests. He was a very special man with a great big heart of pure Italian gold who will be sorely missed.

Services for Michael will be private.
