Obituary Notice for Miguel A. Leon

Miguel Angel Leon, 77, of Maple Wood Terrace in Providence, passed into eternal life on Sunday, December 26th at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. He was the beloved husband of Elsa (Medina) Leon for the past 50 years.

Born in Guayama, P.R. on March 19, 1944, Miguel was a son of the late Angel and Matilde (Cortijo) DeLeon. He was raised in a loving and traditional Puerto Rican home together with his siblings, Maria, Angelica, Antonio, Juan, and the late Carmen DeLeon. An extremely hard-working and humble man, Miguel was an accomplished, career landscaper who took much pride in his work.

In addition to his widow and siblings, he is survived by his loving children, Linda Vargas, Elizabeth (Roman) Robles, Juanita (Felix) Hernandez, Maritza Leon, and Madelyne (Donald) Collins. He also leaves several cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews by whom he'll be sorely missed and fondly remembered.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Miguel's Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Monday, January 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward's Church on Branch Avenue in Providence. Burial will be private, at the convenience of his family.
