OBITUARY & FAMILY TRIBUTE ~ NANCY GARCIA

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, is gone too soon!

Nancy Garcia, 72, passed away peacefully, at home, on February 17th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Puerto Rico on the Fourth of July in 1950, she was a cherished daughter of Trinidad Bonilla. Nancy relocated to New York where she started her family before moving to and settling in Rhode Island in 2006.

Nancy is survived by her only son Christopher Garcia lll, of Providence; her brother, Raymond Bonilla of Pennsylvania; her sister, Bruni Collazo and her spouse, Francisco of New York; and her five adored grandchildren, Adrienne, Christopher, lV., Amber, Francisco, and Jsean. She was sadly predeceased by her son, Francisco Brugueras, her brother, Rafael Bonilla Jr., and two sisters, Sylvia and Sandra Bonilla. She will also be sorely missed by her beloved Chihuahua, Chiquito.

Nancy was loveable and big-hearted, the light of our lives and the glue that kept all of us connected. She was the life of the party, a firecracker who wasn’t shy to speak her mind or give her opinion. She was always honest and also a perpetual flirt! She loved her Carmel Macchiato by day and her Rum & Coke when relaxing in the evening. She was a great cook and took pride in teaching her grandson the favorite family recipes to carry on for the next generation. She always hosted family Thanksgivings where she showered her family and friends with love and favorite foods such as Arroz con Gandules and Pernil. Her loving home and fantastic Spanish recipes were her way of showing love and care to those close to her.

Nancy loved the beach and old-school music; with or without her dancing shoes, she danced a mean Salsa and was not easy to keep up with. She showed her family and her many friends that life was for living and for loving each other.

Nancy had a beautiful and loving soul as evidenced by many friends with whom she stayed connected throughout her life. We will miss everything about her vivacious personality and loving spirit. May she rest in peace until we meet again.

Visitation & Services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited, will be held in the Berarducci Funeral Home, 26 Grove Street (cor. Knight Street), Providence on Wednesday, February 22nd from 4-6 pm.
