Obituary for Paulette M Littlejohn

~ Paulette M. Littlejohn ~

Following a brief illness and compassionate hospice care, our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and friend, Paulette M. Littlejohn, 78, of East Providence passed away peacefully on October 24th surrounded by her loyal and loving family. She was a beloved daughter of the late George H. and Naomi (Spence) Washington. A true patriot, she was the widow of a selfless veteran of the Viet Nam War, Mcgeary Littlejohn, and the long-time companion of the late Ronald Johnson.

Mourning her passing are her devoted daughters, Christine of North Providence, Jessica of West Warwick, and Louanne & Sherry, both of Tampa, FL. She is also survived her cherished grandchildren and dear siblings.

Paulette was a remarkable woman; highly regarded, well respected, admired, and endeared to many. In addition to being our loving and devoted matriarch, she was beautiful, smart, spirited, and stylish. She was a proud native American and active member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe who closely held and truly appreciated her ancestry.

Intelligent, well-read, ambitious, determined, dependable, and hard-working, she attended Brown University and graduated from Rhode Island College. She enjoyed a multi-faceted career, first in health care as both a nurse and an X-ray technician, and later as the owner/operator of her own day-care center. As one of a (then) very few women entrepreneurs, Paulette was a 'pioneer' and certainly, 'ahead of her time!

Services for Paulette to which family and friends are respectfully invited to attend will be held, Sunday, November 12th, 12 noon at The Beneficent Congregational Church, 300 Weybosset, St., Providence, Rhode, Island. Arrangements are with the Berarducci Home in Providence.
