Obituary for Pauline G Dufresne (Dubois)

PAULINE DUFRESNE

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Pauline G. (Dubois) Dufresne, 75, a lifelong resident of Woonsocket passed away unexpectedly, due to medical complications, at Rhode Island Hospital on September 21st, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 15th, 1946, she was the beloved daughter of Henry and Olivette (Barras) Dubois. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, James Dufresne and their two beautiful daughters, Kim Dufresne Furness of Somerset MA, and Karyn Dufresne of Manville RI. Pauline is also survived by her two sisters, Jeanne Cooper of Woonsocket and Suzanne Poulin of Cumberland, and by her four loving granddaughters, Ashly Dufresne of Woonsocket, Alexis Manter of Fall River, Sydney Dufresne, and Karaline Furness, both of Somerset.

Pauline was a lifelong Rhode Islander. She was a proud graduate of the former St. Clare High School in Woonsocket and completed coursework at Bryant College. She was a hard worker and employed as a dedicated Bookkeeper for over 30 years at Teknor Apex in Pawtucket before retiring.

With her ever-present, engaging, and beautiful smile, Pauline was active, effervescent, and always a lot of fun; she truly enjoyed her family and friends. Supportive and loving, she happily attended many of her granddaughters' softball games and was very involved in her alumni association; keeping up with her classmates was 'a must' !

A life-long learner, she was a well-read, curious, and adventurous person with a great personality.
She loved to travel with her family, always willing to go anywhere and experience anything. Pauline loved to spend time by the ocean, especially near Narragansett Beach. She also enjoyed playing BINGO at Foxwoods, listening to Elvis' music, and sipping Margaritas. A great fan and supporter of Woonsocket's annual Autumnfest, she looked forward to the event all year long. At the time of her passing, she was also excitedly anticipating the October arrival of her very first great-granddaughter.

Pauline's joy, passion, zest for life, and loving presence will be sorely missed but fondly and forever remembered by many. May she now rest in eternal peace.

Services for Pauline will be private, please feel free to leave a condolence for the family.
