Obituary for Robert E. Braxton

Robert E. Braxton Sr., 52, of Providence, affectionately called Bobby by his family and friends, passed away unexpectedly, on November 27th, at home, in the care of his loving family. Born on September 2nd, 1968, he was the beloved son of Nancy Braxton of Providence and the late Wayne Thomas. He is survived by the mother of his children, Tresa Collins. Bobby was a loving and devoted father to his four children, his son, Robert E. Braxton Jr., of Providence, his three loving daughters, Syrina Braxton, Jade Collins and Jalisa Collins all of Providence. Robert was a wonderful father and grandfather. He is also survived by his five beautiful grandchildren along with many friends and relatives by whom he will be sorely missed.

A lifelong Rhode Islander, Bobby was born and raised in Providence, he was educated here, raised his family and made his life here. He was the light of our family and the joy of our lives; he was funny, genuine, kind and caring and amazing to be around. He enjoyed life and had the biggest heart. He taught us selflessness and forgiveness and we will miss his kind energy, his generous smile, his great sense of humor and his presence and the way he would always joke around with family and friends at each gathering. Bobby loved family gatherings, he loved spending time with his family, he loved listening to music together and watching sports. He loved his Pittsburg Steelers and football season was his favorite time of year. He loved watching his favorite team with his family and friends. His love, energy and honor will live on forever through his loved ones.

The care of Robert E. Braxton Sr. has been entrusted to the Berarducci Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Providence RI. Due to the Covid “Pause” Services for Mr. Braxton will be private.
