Obituary for Robert David Kane

Robert David ("Cub") Kane, 51, passed peacefully and surrounded by loving family on November 6th, 2023, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, after a long struggle with multiple illnesses.

Born on August 12, 1972, in Woonsocket, RI, he was the cherished youngest son of the late Richard Stephen and Therese Marie (Brunelle) Kane. Robert leaves his two sons, Zachary and Nicholas Kane, and their mother, Shelley Tebow, all of Blackstone MA. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard, Daniel, and Scott Kane, all of Pascoag, RI; his brother Jim, sister-in-law Raffaela, and nephew Adam Kane with whom he lived in Harrisville, RI; his sister, Lori Kane, of Gastonia, NC; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, a great-niece, and cousins. Cub was predeceased by his brother, Keith Kane, in October, 2015.

Cub’s ancestry included his proud Native American Algonquin-speaking Cree Tribal heritage. He loved to commune in and with Nature, where he found his peace and solace. A carpenter by trade, Cub loved building and fixing things with his skilled hands. The proud father of two young boys with whom he loved to go fishing and camping, they truly enjoyed nature together; he especially enjoyed cooking on the grill for them. In addition, he loved swimming in lakes and the ocean with his family and friends. Our dear “Cub” will be sorely missed but continue to be greatly loved by all those who mourn his passing. May he rest in eternal peace.

Services for Robert to which family and friends are respectfully invited to attend will be held November 17th beginning with visitation at 9 a.m. in the Berarducci Funeral Home, 185 Spring Street, Woonsocket, RI. and conclude with a service of prayer & reflection. Burial in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, MA will immediately follow. Procession to the Cemetery will begin at 10 am.
