She was the most traditional Italian woman we knew! Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Rose “Rosie” ( Montecalvo) Antonelli, 88, of Cranston, passed away, at home, on February 17th, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Vieste Italy, September 6,1933, a beloved daughter of Joseph and Maria (D’Agostino) Montecalvo. She was a devoted spouse of the late Donato Antonelli Jr. Rosie is survived by her children, Donna Bacon and her spouse Russell, Dina Venditelli and her fiancé, Curtis and Donato Antonelli. She is also survived by her sister, Libby (Montecalvo) Delgiudice. She leaves behind her beautiful and loving grandchildren, Lisa Bacon, Jessica Petrella and her husband Michael, Kerri Bacon and her fiancé Kevin, Russell Bacon and his wife Tayla and Amanda Venditelli along with eight adoring great-grandchildren, Kevin, Brandon, KJ, Olivia, Talia, Makinley, Nora and Troy and many nieces and nephews by whom she will be sorely missed. Rose was predeceased by her siblings, Lucrezia Montecalvo, Angelina Paone, Frank Montecalvo, and Michael Montecalvo.

Rosie was a beautiful woman who had a smile that would light up a room and a personality that could make anyone feel at home. A hardworking, smart and loving woman, devoted to her family and loved ones. She worked at North Safety Equipment for 25 years as secretary before retiring. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

She was our Matriarch and our family loved going to her house every Sunday for her famous macaroni and meatballs, we would smell the delicious and memorable aromas as we approached the kitchen, we would have coffee with traditional Italian pastries and play cards for hours. She loved to play cards with her brothers and sisters. She loved and adored all her grandchildren but even more she enjoyed her great grandchildren whom she spoiled above and beyond.

Rosie, enjoyed life and knew how to have fun too, she was also, elegant and stylish. She never liked leaving the house without her makeup and hair looking perfect. She loved to go to Foxwoods to play the Tabasco slot machine and was excited to go to Bingo with her famous “bingo bag” along with her daughter. Before his passing, she loved traveling everywhere with her husband and loved sharing all of her precious photos of her journey’s with her family. Most of all, when we think of Rosie, we will love and miss her smile, her laughter and the love she gave us, all the time, no matter what we did wrong so, until we meet again, rest in peace our beloved Rose.
