Obituary for Susan Lee Duclos

Susan Lee Duclos, 57, of Newport, RI, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2019, after a long battle with COPD. Born June 23,1961, in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Cynthia (Cooper) Duclos. Susan is survived by her long time boyfriend William Kelly and her children, Jessica Federici, Tara Duclos, William Duclos, and Shontel Duclos, Grandchildren Ariana, Skyla, Jaliyah, Gianna, Tyler, Khory, Kendahl, and Aaliyah, sisters Donna Helka, Rita Brown, and Lisa Gonsalves; Susan is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews, 27 great-nieces and nephews, one great-great niece and dozens of friends. She was predeceased by her brothers Raymond Duclos, Mark Duclos, and sisters Dianne Bannigan, Sheila Craven, and great-niece, Nevaeh Duclos. Susan will be sorely missed and never forgotten.

Susan was extremely witty and entertainingly comical. She always found a way to make you laugh. Sue had a great sense of humor that will be missed. A former graduate of Johnson & Wales School of Culinary arts she always loved to cook and bake wonderful and creative meals. She also enjoyed dancing and was known for her moves back in her day. She was a fun loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who cherished spending time with all of her family and friends.

Sue took pride in being the person you could turn to, if Sue had it; it was yours, she always tried to save the day and ease the burden of those around her. Susan possessed a gravitating energy, and taught a lot of lessons in her lifetime, leading to positive change for many that have crossed her path. Susan was a special kind of relationship and will be missed beyond measure.

The loss of a dear friend 💔 is always a hard pill to swallow... Reading these words brought tears to my eyes because it touched on the very soul of who Sue was... I always say everything has a purpose under heaven and God had a purpose when he brought you into my life in the midst of the worse storm I have ever lived. You made that time more bearable. You will be missed dearly. I am sorry I did not get to see you before you went home to be with your predecessors... I will always remember your laugh.. because you kept me laughing...
