Obituary for Vincent Gaetano Tessitore
Vincent G. Tessitore, 96, of Johnston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, June 6th 1922, he was a son of the late Alfredo and Civita (Ferrigno) Tessitore. Vincent is survived by his loving and devoted wife Helen (Vento) Tessitore. He is also survived by his two sons Vincent Tessitore Jr., and his wife Michelle of Coral Springs FLA., Alfred Tessitore and his wife Patricia of St. Charles MO., and his four step children Sheila Esposito of Johnston, Gail Esposito Williams of Cranston, John and Scott Esposito both of Johnston. Vincent was predeceased by his siblings Orlando Tessitore, Robert Tessitore and Adele Girard. He is survived by five beautiful grandchildren and seven beautiful great-grandchildren in addition to his loving nephews and nieces by whom he will be sorely missed.
After high school Vincent became part of the Greatest Generation. He was drafted in the US Army in 1941, and spent 3 years in Europe. He was a Sharpshooter assigned to the 4th Battalion and fought the battle on the shores of Normandy France in WW ll for which he received numerous medals before being Honorably discharged in December of 1945.
Upon returning home Vincent became a successful businessman in the booming Rhode Island Jewelry Industry. He was owner and operator of Tess Mfg., on Valley St., in Providence for over 50 years before retiring. A loving family man and husband who loved to dote on and care for his beautiful wife Helen. He was the love of her life as she was his. They loved to dance, travel, laugh and simply spend time together. He always left her little notes, post-it’s and cards to remind her daily of how much he loved her. Vincent was her great love and he will be truly missed. He was an avid golfer and a distiguished member of the Metacomet Country Club.
Services, with Military Honors for Vincent to which friends and family are invited to attend will be held Monday 5-7 pm in the Berarducci Funeral Home 26 Grove St., Providence. Burial will be private.
