Obituary for William A Myers

Print
William A, Myers, 73, born on May 21,1945, a lifelong resident of Woonsocket passed away peacefully on October 31st, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Calvin and Doris (Cournoyer) Myers. He is survived by his beloved partner Martha Guildoo. He was also survived by one son Michael Myers of Bellingham MA and and four daughters, Sandra, Ann and Crystal Myers all of Woonsocket and Patricia Drainville of New Hampshire. He was also survived by his brother Bruce Myers of CT and his sister, Karen Malo of Webster MA. and his nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren all by whom he will be sorely missed.

William was always a hard worker. A workaholic, as a matter of fact. If he wasn’t working then he would be tinkering around with mechanics. He was a Do It Yourself all round mechanic. In his retirement, he loved watching his favorite T.V. shows including MASH, Hogan’s Heroes, Barney Miller and all the old classics. He loved to go to the casinos and enjoy himself. When he went food shopping he always bought in excess, always concerned with having enough for his home and family. We will chuckle when we think of what his cabinets looked like. Even as children he would hide his stash of candy from us kids! That part of him never changed.

We will always remember that our father loved his children very much. We will remember how he loved to go fishing and always fed the birds and squirrels every morning. He very much loved his precious dogs Sheana, Tina and Cocoa. They meant the world to him.

He was a very giving man and did it in a humble way. He was very proud of his 33 years of sobriety. He often cooked for the less fortunate at AA meetings during the holidays. If someone was in need he would open his doors to them.
