Obituary for Yvenette Rene Veillard

“To know her was to love and admire her”. Our dear mother, sister, friend, Yvenette Rene, passed from the clutches of her loving family into the eternal embrace of her Lord on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, RI. She was 66 years of age at the time of her passing.

Born on June 7, 1954 in Petit-Guave to Saget Rene and Josephine Nazareth Mascary, she was raised in a traditional Christian home together with her seven siblings. Educated in the local school system, she was a proud graduate of Petit-Guave High School, Class of 1972. Following a successful retail career, she relocated to the USA in 2002, settling in Providence, RI.

Yvenette was a strong, independent, capable, and astute business woman who never shied away from hard work; in fact, she welcomed and enjoyed it, always appreciating the fruits of her labors. She owned and operated a grocery store in Petit-Guave for over 15 years.

Family oriented and deeply religious, Yvenette loved nothing more than spending quality time with family and friends and found solace and peace in frequent prayer, regular attendance at church services, and participation in many activities. She was a great story teller, who could captivate and entertain those who listened to her tales for hours at a time. She also enjoyed cooking, especially preparing family dinners and fried chicken for her grandchildren. A charismatic, compassionate, caring, and loving woman, Yvenette was always there to extend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Funny and feisty, her warmth and joy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

She is survived by her four children, Duckens Louis and his children, Jadon and Austin Louis; Aline Louis; Myvnette Veillard and her son, Jay Omar Beard; and Kermann Veillard and his children, Kayliannie and Maliah; her siblings, Weshnel, Jean Felex, Juillette, and Sagine Renee, and Yvener, Jocelyne, and Wilna Poussin; and many other relatives and friends by whom she will be sorely miss but fondly remember her.

Due to the current pandemic restrictions, services for Yvenette are being planned for a future date. In the meantime, the family would appreciate kind thoughts and prayers for Yvenette’s intentions. Memorial contributions to the Veillard family would be appreciated.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Berarducci Home and Cremation Care Center in Providence.
