Dorothy ( Dottie) Barbato 86 of North Providence passed peacefully at Roger Williams Hospital. She was the loving wife of 58 years to Salvatore Barbato and is survived by their only son Anthony Barbato and many loving nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a daughter of the late Antonio and Mabel Soave. She was also predeceased by her siblings Angela Cesino, Marie Fargnoli, Ferdidando Soave, Anthony Soave,

Dottie lived in the Federal Hill area for her entire life. She was an avid animal lover and a loving dedicated mother. She was a tap dancer as a young woman and loved Elvis Presley, Andrea Boccelli and Mario Lanza immensely and would enjoy their music often. Dottie was also an avid Red Sox fan and a dedicated Cianci supporter,

She loved to cook and take care of her family while she filled the house with music. She was an avid walker and loved to go shopping in the Federal Hill and downtown areas when she could.

Services for Dottie, to which friends and family are invited to attend, will be held in the Berarducci Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center located at the corner of Grove and Knight St. in Providence, Thursday from 3-6pm. A mass of Christian burial will be Friday morning 10am in the Our Lady of The Rosary Church, 463 Benefit St. Providence with burial in St Ann's cemetery to immediately follow,
