Obituary for John Joseph Souza

John Joseph Souza, 38, of Cranston was taken tragically, in an auto accident, while driving home from work on Thursday night, May 10th, 2018. John is survived by his parents and was the devoted son of John R.Souza and stepson to Diane Souza of Johnston; He was beloved son of Joanne (Mastrofine) Moitoza and stepson to her husband John Moitoza of Cranston. He is also survived by his siblings Tara Souza of Fall River, Heather Peterson of Johnston, Daniel Peterson Sr., of North Providence and Gian Souza of Johnston. He was a beloved uncle to his two nephews Daniel Edward Peterson Jr., and Elijah John Peterson. John is also survived by his Godmother Donna (Dickenson) Rastelli and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends by whom he will be sorely missed.

John was a great son, brother, uncle and friend. He was competitive, he loved life and music, he was quick to laugh, he loved to shoot pool, spend time with his family and friends. He lived his life to the fullest everyday. He was the kind of person who would do anything for a friend or loved one but also for a person he just met. His laugh was infectious and his personality made people gravitate towards him. Anyone who knew him loved him. His honesty and sense of humor made him one of the funniest and most genuine people you could ever know. He will be missed by all. John was in the entertainment business, he was a professional Disc Jockey. He had high aspirations and we all knew he was going places. He had a larger than life personality, he was the sunshine and the light of this family. Whenever John came into a room, he was the one making us laugh, smile and if you were lucky, you got one of his great big Bear Hugs, with which he was always generous. John loved music, it was his passion. He loved comedy and was an artist in every sense of the word.We will miss him forever, we will miss him not walking through the door and telling us jokes, playing pranks on us, practicing his comedy, we will miss him at every holiday, every celebration and we will miss him every day. Our beloved was taken and our family will be forever changed and will forever miss him.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours in the Berarducci Home 26 Grove St. Tuesday evening 4-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10:30 am in Holy Ghost Church, Atwells Ave.
