Peters, Olga, 96, of Johnston, passed peacefully Sunday morning at the Hebert Health Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Joseph S. Peters. She was the daughter of the late Camillo and Angelina (Maddelena) Salzillo. She is survived by her loving daughters Anna Quirini of Warwick and Jean DeMoranville of Providence. Olga was predeceased by her four sons, Arthur, Joseph, Paul and Thomas Peters. She was predeceased by her all of her eleven siblings, four brothers, William, Adolf (Dave), Armand (Eddie), and Vincent Salzillo and seven sisters, Dora Rastelli, Louse Parrillo, Mary Tomasso, Jenny Pesce, Rose Tomasso,Viola Mastrostefano and Anna Davis. Olga is survived by her 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 8 great- great grandchildren all by whom she will be sorely missed.

Olga lived for her family. She was born and raised in Johnston, RI. She was a middle child of eleven siblings. She married on December 7th, 1940 many years after Joseph S. Peters saw her on a beach and told his mother that he would someday marry her. They made their home in Barrington RI, living in a small home surrounded by family. It was here that Olga took up quahoging, a pastime she enjoyed. They had six children in the twelve years they lived there. After leaving Barrington, Olga moved with her family to Federal Hill in Providence, where she would again be surrounded by relatives. Over the years, Olga's family would expand to include grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren all of whom she enjoyed dearly and had created special bonds with each of them. She would always say that "Babies bring happiness into a home".

Olga's other love, second only to her family was Bingo, She was an avid Bingo player, able to play multiple cards without a Dabber. Olga didn't mind if it was in a church, a hall or at Foxwoods. She loved all Bingo. However, you'd better not look at her cards, or she'd let you have it! Once, she had the opportunity to play cards with Kristen Alfonso from Days of our Lives fame. She always enjoyed playing the Slots, Scratch Tickets, and cards with her family, an activity that she took part in until her passing.

She enjoyed cooking and was very good at it, her favorite dishes included Grape Leaves, Pasta Sauce, home made meatballs and lentil with rice. She always cooked enough to feed a small army and we all were grateful for her passion and talents when it came to cooking, no one ever had to worry if there was enough, Olga always made sure there would be plenty.

In addition to being a great mother, grandmother and wife she also worked for many years as a Foot-press Operator at Monet' from which she retired in 1982, upon which she spent her time with her loving grandchildren. She loved taking walks with them to Burger King or to the Ice Cream Parlor, She always had them on her bed watching her favorite game shows of The Price Is right, Press Your Luck, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. When she was not with her grandchildren she could often be found on the front porch with a book in her hands.

Olga endured her struggles but, was a firm believer in God. No matter what hand she was dealt, her faith never waivered. She believed that God helps those who help themselves and was never hesitant about putting in her part of the work. She believed she would be reunited with her husband and children in the afterlife and look forward to that reunion. In her words, " Don't cry when I die,I'm old, I've lived a good life".

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Celebration of Olga's life with a Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday May 31st, in St. George's Maronite Catholic Church,1493 Cranston St. Cranston RI beginning at 10:30 am, with burial in St Ann's Cemetery immediately following.
