Vincent G. Tessitore, 96, of Johnston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, June 6th 1922, he was a son of the late Alfredo and Civita (Ferrigno) Tessitore. Vincent is survived by his loving and devoted wife Helen (Vento) Tessitore. He is also survived by his two sons Vincent Tessitore Jr., and his wife Michelle of Coral Springs FLA., Alfred Tessitore and his wife Patricia of St. Charles MO., and his four step children Sheila Esposito of Johnston, Gail Esposito Williams of Cranston, John and Scott Esposito both of Johnston. Vincent was predeceased by his siblings Orlando Tessitore, Robert Tessitore and Adele Girard. He was a Sharpshooter assigned to the 4th Battalion and fought the battle on the shores of Normandy France in WW ll for which he received numerous medals before being Honorably discharged in December of 1945.

What an absolutely beautiful gathering to celebrate Vincent's life and legacy was experienced last night! Unfortunately, I never had the pleasure of knowing him - or any of the fine folks in attendance - but what a beautiful tribute I observed and will continue to marvel at for quite some time. As a member of the funeral home staff, and during many years in and around the funeral service profession in general, I was struck by the sincerity, quality, and genuineness of the love and respect evident in that place and the warmth which emanated therefrom; it was truly something rare to behold! Having served countless families in the past, allow me to pay tribute to your beloved Vincent by saying that I felt honored, pleased, and privileged to have been able to assist in serving such a wonderful group of family and extended family members, all of such sterling character. I have no doubt that your dear Vincent was looking down on all those of you gathered there in his honor with immense pride, fondness, and gratitude! Truly, his was a life well lived and certainly well celebrated. May he rest in eternal peace and may God bless you all at this tender time.
