William A. McGloin, 44, of Cranston, passed away peacefully, at Hope Hospice RI, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 1st, 2019. He was a son of Mr. William J. McGloin of Providence and the late Mrs., JoAn (Toledo) McGloin. William is also survived by his three children, William A. McGloin Jr., 11 years old and his 9-year-old twins, Mateo and Indira McGloin. He is also survived by his two sisters, Maria Morales and her husband Hector of Cumberland and Doreen McGloin of North Providence. He was known by all his friends and family for “always being there” for others, he was loud and had a larger than life personality. He loved basketball, books, dogs and video games, he loved comic books and was an avid reader of all books. William always had a good word for others and never participated in negative talk about anyone, he liked to eat clean and healthy, he loved to eat Italian food but, he also loved fish and sushi and could make an awesome calzone. He was the light of our lives and will be missed everyday by all who loved him.

A Celebration of Life, in William’s honor will be held at the Columbus Club of Lincoln, 171 Jenckes Hill Road, Lincoln, Thursday, December 5th from 4-8pm . Billy was such a cheerful friendly man and always a pleasure to work with at the DOC If anyone in the SIU or Internal Affairs ever needed anything, Billy was their go-to guy. He was always so kind and sweet. H would talk incessantly about his fabulous children. He was so proud of them, so excited to tell me how bright and smart his kids were - truly they were the light of his life. I am so very sorry for your loss.

To the McGloin Family, there are not specific words I can say that will at all take your pain away. I can only hope that your comfort will come in the form of love and support you will all give each other and the memories you shared with him and will continue to share with each other.
